Lonely and Liking It

Continuing the "Things I think are..." series, I'd like to make a list of things I think are worth doing alone. This does not mean that they are things that are only fun if you are alone, nor are they last-resort activities if no one else can join you. These are things I have found to be particularly rewarding or interesting when done alone. Many of these things have also been done with other people and have been equally rewarding experiences. I just feel having the independence to do things by yourself is a good characteristic to have (listen up ladies who go to the bathroom in groups...). Anyways, here are some things I think are worth doing alone:

1. Going to a movie theatre

2. Running/Walking/Biking/Exercising

3. Air Guitar

4. Going to a bookstore

5. Grocery Shopping

6. Dining at a sit down restaurant

7. Looking through photo albums

8. Playing a really good videogame

9. Listening to mellow music

10. Treating yourself to your favorite foods (I suggest a Chipotle burrito and Jamba Juice)

11. Nature walks

I'm sure there are things I am leaving out so I encourage anyone to share any they may have.

I especially enjoy going to a movie alone.

Not to taint your list with organized religion, but I'd also say I enjoy going to Mass alone, especially where no one knows me.

I've been out of the habit for some time, but I enjoy walking around at night alone. I think being alone in these two instances allows me to sink deeper into my thoughts, allowing me to go wherever they lead.

good call. walking and driving at night are quite pleasant.

also i was really hoping that the 'i've been out of the habit' line was related to going to church. but i think the pun is probably not the caliber that i expect from you anyways.

Before I moved into my new apartment, I dreaded going home to my other apartment because of my roommate issues. I found a variety of enjoyable things to do alone because of my circumstances. My most memorable instance was going to barnes 'n noble, purchasing a book, walking across the street to Friday's, and sat there for a good 2 hours eating my chicken strips and french fries slowly while getting half-way through a good book. : )
